Lou Pride - Com'un Home: The Suemi Records Sessions (2026)

Lou Pride, a soul and blues performer, recorded his first commercial tracks in El Paso, Texas, in the 1970s following his military service. Collaborating with producer Kenny Smith and engineer Bill "Sparks" Taylor at Suemi Records, the artist created seminal tracks alongside the local ensemble The Groove Merchants. The iconic song "I'm Com'un Home In The Morn'un" unexpectedly became a major anthem of the British Northern Soul scene, where rare original vinyl records are still highly prized by collectors. In 2006, Jazzman Records restored these historic recordings from the original master tapes to release the complete collection "Comun' Home: The Suemi Records Sessions." This archival project preserves Lou Pride's early musical legacy before he continued his career in Memphis and Chicago.
