Jessie Rad - Battenkill (2026)

In the early 20th century, individuals with dementia were institutionalized in asylums, stripped of their human dignity and left isolated. In contrast to this historical hardship, a certified dementia care practitioner (COTA/CDP) created a dedicated musical project honoring their patients. Working in a specialized care unit, the practitioner captured the inner worlds, endearing traits, and emotional experiences of these individuals through a dedicated album. Written in the style of acoustic folk and singer-songwriter music, this collection serves as a therapeutic tool and a bridge for emotional connection. The album is shared directly with patients and their families, ensuring they feel valued and supported even as their memories fade.
