This release features an archival live recording by the distinguished Indian sitar maestro Pandit Debu Chaudhuri. The performance was captured in 1999 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, UK. Similar to other recent issues from Navras Records, this digital edition is part of an ongoing collaborative initiative with Sony Music Entertainment India to digitize and release historical live recordings of Hindustani classical concerts held at major British venues during the 1990s.

The digital album was officially released on August 14, 2026. The entire musical program is dedicated to a single piece: a comprehensive rendition of the profound, late-night Raga Darbari Kanada.

The performance strictly follows the traditional progression of Hindustani classical music. It opens with an extended, unmetered solo introduction consisting of an alap (a slow, contemplative exploration of the raga's notes), moving into the rhythmic pulse of the jor, and culminating in the rapid, rhythmic strumming of the jhala. This is followed by two rhythmic compositions (gat): one played in a medium tempo (madhyalaya) set to the 12-beat ektaal, and a concluding fast-paced (drut) composition set to the 16-beat teentaal.
