Chiave di Volta - Ritratto Libero (2025)

Ritratto Libero (2025) is the second studio album by the Italian progressive rock band Chiave di Volta, released by the independent label Lizard Records.

The album continues the traditions of classic Italian progressive rock (RPI — Rock Progressivo Italiano), demonstrating a mature approach to arrangements and poetic lyrics in the native language.

Ritratto Libero ("Free Portrait") is a conceptual work dedicated to themes of inner freedom, self-determination, the search for identity, and a break from socially imposed stereotypes. The title symbolizes a free artistic sketch of the human soul, unconstrained by boundaries and canons.

Musically, the album is distinguished by its rich dramaturgy: lengthy compositions contain multiple time signature changes, exquisite instrumental duels between guitar and keyboards, and cinematic interludes.
