Suite degli Animali Fantastici (2015) is the second studio album by the Italian progressive rock band Quanah Parker, released by the independent prog label Beardfish Records.
The album develops the symphonic prog direction established on their debut album, Nel Castello delle Fate, offering a more refined, conceptual, and suite-like approach to composition.
Suite degli Animali Fantastici (Suite of Fantastic Animals) is a conceptual bestiary inspired by medieval legends, mythology, and bestiaries. Each composition on the album is dedicated to a different mythical or allegorical creature (Griffin, Phoenix, Basilisk, etc.), serving as a symbol of human vices, virtues, and spiritual quests.
The album's central feature is the multi-part suite of the same name, in which the group demonstrates virtuoso compositional work with multiple changes in tempo, time signature, and mood.
