"German Class-X: New Wave" is a comprehensive two-disc compilation covering the Neue Deutsche Welle, post-punk, and early industrial music scenes across Germany and Switzerland during the late 1970s and 1980s. Compiled and conceived by Klaus Maeck and Olivier Marette, the release was issued by the Belgian label Classix Records and distributed via Play It Again Sam.

The collection features prominent acts and underground figures from key local scenes including Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Munich, and Zurich. Among the featured artists are Abwärts, Belfegore, SYPH, Palais Schaumburg, Malaria!, X-Mal Deutschland, Die Krupps, DAF, Liaisons Dangereuses, Einstürzende Neubauten, Seen Links Schlösser Rechts, Die Unbekannten, Mona Mur, Foyer Des Arts, Alexander von Borsig, Nina Hagen, Fehlfarben, FSK, Holger Hiller, Der Plan, Andreas Dorau, Holger Czukay, Grauzone, and Liliput.

The compilation tracks the movement's evolution from raw punk and avant-garde synth-pop to early electronic body music (EBM) and industrial noise experiments. Audio restoration and mastering were performed by Digipro.
