The Peach Discs almost-annual compilation is back for Vol. 5 in its traditional middle-of-the-year slot, bringing 9 rays of summer heat for the summer heat, once again sourced by Shanti and Gramrcy from an international crew of new names and familiar faces. 2026's edition casts a wider stylistic net than last year's, but it's no less potent for it. We just like what we like and this is what we like. Things kick off with returning favourite ISAbella, last seen around these parts on Peach Pals Vol. 2, whose relentlessly grooving "Rodeo" is all galloping bass and head-spinning FX. Label-head (and fellow Vol. 2 contributor) Gramrcy follows with "Pluq", which shares some sonic DNA with the optimistic breaks and sky-scanning pads of "Groove It" from k2k. "Labda" from Fort Romeau finds the UK house legend in a deliciously bouncy mood, and rides nicely alongside "Love Love" from newcomer Scon, who bolts on a bumping UKG-bassline and ear-tickling vocal cuts. Man o' the moment Will Hofbauer blesses us with a tougher twist on his uniquely playful sound (aka it bangs) while Kid Simius and Ischia both pivot around Latinate grooves - the former on a cut-and-paste tip that refuses to quit, the latter proof that the echoes of UK funky continue to reverberate. We finish up with the speed-agnostic rhythmic complexities of Yunjin's "Cooking Up Percs" b2b "Aetheric (Life Mix)," a dreamy post-prog comedown (and her first original release) from Sasha Milani. A joyful, playful pair to close on we hope sum up this year's compilation :)
