The Canadian duo summersets, featuring Ottawa-based musicians Kalle Mattson and Andrew Sowka, released their second album, Pine Trees in a Perfect Row, centered on the cost-of-living crisis and economic realism facing millennials. The single "Move Back Home" captures a key social trend of 2026: housing unaffordability in major metropolitan areas forcing young adults back to their northern Ontario hometowns like Sault Ste. Marie. Departing from mainstream pop conventions, the project embraces socio-economic narrative themes in the lineage of folk and indie folk storytellers like Tracy Chapman.

The duo formed during 2020 lockdowns, when critically acclaimed folk solo artist Kalle Mattson partnered with childhood friend Andrew Sowka to explore close vocal harmonies inspired by Everly Brothers. Recorded mostly live off the floor, Pine Trees in a Perfect Row features minimalist arrangements crafted alongside bassist-producer Jim Bryson (Kathleen Edwards, Weakerthans), drummer Peter Von Althen (Skydiggers), and guitarist Christine Bougie (Bahamas), yielding an intimate sound across indie folk and acoustic rock.
