Tim Curry - Read My Lips (Expanded Edition) (1978)

The debut solo album by British actor and singer Tim Curry, Read My Lips, is getting an updated digital reissue featuring two bonus tracks. Originally released in 1978 on the A&M label, this project presents an ironic panorama of 20th-century popular music genres, created in collaboration with producers Bob Ezrin and Michael Kamen. The collection balances between artistic parody and professional musical arrangements, reimagining classic compositions. A diverse ensemble of musicians participated in the recording, including guitarist Nils Lofgren, bassist Bob Babbitt, and the Toronto Regiment of Pipes and Drums. The album showcases experimental interpretations—from a reggae version of the Beatles' song "I Will" to a heavy metal parody titled "(Do The) Brontosaurus." Listeners will also find cover versions of Joni Mitchell's "All I Want" and Irving Berlin's "Harlem On My Mind."
