Canadian-born musician Bill Beau, who relocated from Toronto to Los Angeles, transitioned from the vibraphone to the Hammond organ to lead his own trio. Alongside guitarist Jo Stafford, drummer Lorenzo Green, and vocalist Chi Chi, the ensemble established a residency at the Blue Port Lounge, becoming a defining act of the 1960s mod soul jazz scene. Captured live in an intimate club atmosphere, their performance blends driving grooves with lyrical moments across original compositions and reinterpreted standards—from Crying and Bossa Bill Beau to a haunting rendition of St. James Infirmary. Mo-Jazz Records preserves these archial performances in a deluxe, eco-friendly bio-vinyl release titled Live At The Blueport Lounge, limited to 505 hand-numbered copies and housed in authentic 1960s-style tip-on packaging.
