Larry Stabbins, Paul Rogers and Mark Sanders - Sarost: The Granite Variations (2026) [Hi-Res]

These tracks are the first and second sets of the second night of a six day tour of the South of England, at Fringe Jazz at The Bristol Music Club in Bristol, promoted for many years by the legendary and indefatigable Jon Taylor who wrote the next day- "There's good and then there's OFF THE SCALE Bloody Marvellous - The SAROST TRIO last night at Fringe Jazz at The Bristol Music Club."

The Sarost Trio blew us away at the memorial concert for the great South African drummer Louis Moholo-Moholo last year at the 100 Club. On a night of heightened emotion they ripped it up. Larry Stabbbins, who you might remember from the bands Working Week and Weekend & Centipede/Keith Tippett, had given up playing, but had an epiphany when he picked up an old practice sax left behind by his daughter and realised this was what he was meant to do, making each time he plays now a new and inspirational moment...So we had to record them - but then this live recording turned up.... A monster session.
