Andronikos - Short Stories (2026) [Hi-Res]

Greek pianist and composer Andronikos Sotiriou, who relocated from Greece to Barcelona, shaped his artistic voice at the intersection of Mediterranean traditions and modern jazz. Moving to Spain and discovering a new creative space provided the backdrop for his debut recording, Short Stories, released via PKmusik. Rather than delivering a grand narrative, the album offers a collection of intimate sonic vignettes inspired by memories, places, and personal encounters—ranging from the nostalgic i Fotografia (for my grandma) to pieces like A Night in Bucharest and Old Train.

The musical foundation is built upon Andronikos's core piano trio with drummer Waldir Acosta and bassist Alessandro Criscuolo. Enhanced by guitarist Vicente Oliveira and a full string quartet, the ensemble navigates between improvisation, rhythmic groove, and refined chamber music. Featuring five original compositions alongside an arrangement of Chick Corea's classic Humpty Dumpty, the record captures the defining moment of an emerging artist's developing musical identity.
