The Three Degrees - Heartbroken Memories (2026) [Hi-Res]

A decade before achieving international stardom with the massive hit "When Will I See You Again," female vocal group The Three Degrees were laying the groundwork for their sound in Philadelphia. Guided by songwriter and producer Richard Barrett, who aimed to build a trio that would surpass his prior work with The Chantels, the young group recorded a series of early tracks for local label Swan Records.

While these initial recordings did not yield immediate global fame, tracks such as "Gotta Draw The Line," "Do What You're Supposed To Do," "Are You Satisfied," and "Contact" found lasting resonance and acclaim on the Northern Soul underground scene.

Decades later, SOUL CITY RECORDS co-founder David Nathan curated these foundational Philly Soul recordings into the vinyl collection Heartbroken Memories, documenting the origin story of one of the most enduring girl groups in pop and R&B history.
