Gravestone - Back to Attack (1985)

Back to Attack (1985) is the second and most cohesive metal album by the Bavarian band Gravestone, becoming a benchmark classic of the golden era of the Teutonic heavy metal underground. Beginning in the mid-1970s as a classic prog rock band (with the album Doomsday, 1979), by the mid-1980s Gravestone had undergone a radical evolution toward fast, aggressive, and melodic German metal. Recorded at the legendary Brix Studio by engineer Jean Thomas, the album boasts a focused, dense, 1980s analog sound that combines punishing rhythms with virtuosic guitar duels.
