Barry Guy and London Jazz Composers Orchestra featuring Marilyn Crispell and Angelica Sanchez - Double Trouble III (2026) [Hi-Res]

Legendary British free jazz bassist and composer Barry Guy joins the London Jazz Composers Orchestra for a monumental 55-minute release titled Double Trouble III on Maya Recordings. Recorded live at the Berlin Jazz Festival in November 2025, the album captures a specially assembled lineup of Europe's top improvisers.

The centerpiece of this epic composition is the interplay between two renowned piano soloists, Marilyn Crispell and Angelica Sanchez. Fusing avant-garde jazz, large-ensemble free improvisation, and third stream / contemporary classical structural rigor, the record balances soloistic brilliance with dense, highly articulated orchestral writing.
