Graham Dee – The Thirteenth Man (2014)

The Thirteenth Man (2014) is the long-awaited studio return of Graham Dee, a veteran of the 1960s London Mod scene. Released on Acid Jazz Records following the triumphant reception of his archival compilation, The '60s Collection (2010), the album demonstrated that the iconic British soul songwriter has lost none of his creative energy. Named for the unenviable role of the "thirteenth man" (the backup or behind-the-scenes architect of success), the album serves as a monumental tribute to classic British and American soul. Here, Dee fuses the retro aesthetic of Swinging London with a mature, modern sound design approach.
