Antonio Dayyani - Organisme (2026) [Hi-Res]

Young Danish drummer and composer Antonio Dayyani, in his mid-twenties, releases Organisme, the third album by his sextet, founded in 2022. The music blends modern jazz with elements of americana, rock and free improvisation. The record captures a turning point: after a year of touring across Denmark and Europe, the group stepped beyond the Danish jazz scene onto the international stage for the first time.

The album is not a record of a single studio session. It is assembled from seven performances captured across three sessions in the second half of 2025 — at The Village and Medley Studios, and on stage at Copenhagen's Jazzhus Montmartre (the closing track is live). This structure lets listeners trace how the band evolved over the period.

The title refers to the idea of an organism: Dayyani sees people, communities and the world as a web of interconnected relationships, and treats music the same way — as a living entity in which each composition keeps its own character while serving the larger whole. Energetic ensemble pieces alternate with intimate ballads and expansive improvisation, giving every member a voice. The unusual lineup for jazz features pedal steel guitar, trumpet and flugelhorn, piano and guitars, plus strings and vocals on one piece. Diversity of influences and collective interaction are the band's guiding principles, and Dayyani is regarded as one of Denmark's most promising young bandleaders.
