Swedish trombonist and audio engineer Mats Äleklint, recognized for his work with Fire! Orchestra, Angles, Johan Lindström Septet, and Paal Nilssen-Love’s Large Unit, launched his independent imprint Aleklint Records. The label's debut release, Airflow, is a duo album of free improvisation recorded in a single day in March at Uppenbarelsekyrkan in Saltsjöbaden alongside organist and pianist Sten Sandell.

The record centers on exploring the acoustic kinship and physical tension between two wind mechanisms: the trombone with its continuously variable slide and human breath control, and Walter Thür's 1988 mechanical pipe organ featuring thirty-two stops, including a sixteen-foot reed stop named Basun ("trombone"). Recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely by Äleklint without outside production interference, the album comprises six uncompromising improvisational pieces. The sonic architecture weaves together extended techniques, flutter-tongue phrasing, muted horn manipulation, continuous pitch shifts, organ drone structures, and abrasive metallic textures, yielding a uncompromising experimental document at the crossroads of free jazz and the avant-garde.
