Junko Onishi - American Classics (2026) Hi-Res

Jazz pianist Junko Onishi pursues her own unique jazz aesthetic through various formations, ranging from trios and quartets to sextets. Marking her first release in about four years since 2021’s *Grand Voyage*, this latest album is a solo piano collection personally curated by Onishi. Recorded in a concert hall, the nine-track album—which includes medleys—features compositions by pianists she deeply admires, such as Cecil Taylor and Duke Ellington, alongside songs made famous by legendary vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.
