Life Is Not Enough! — The Longing for the Unattainable. The program combines works from the established flute repertoire with contemporary compositions and the artist’s own pieces. Among the central works are Albert Roussel’s “Joueurs de Flute,” Op. 27, and André Jolivet’s “Chant de Linos,” supplemented by Sofia Gubaidulina’s “Sounds of the Forest” and the “Suite pour flûte et harpe” by Swiss composer Blaise Mettraux. This program showcases the flute’s vast stylistic and sonic range: from Roussel’s French musical language to Jolivet’s archaic, ritualistic style, all the way to the contemporary works and Egger’s own compositions. He is accompanied by Madoka Ueno on piano, Cosima Regina Federle on cello, and Swantje Wittenhagen on harp.
