True West - Hand of Fate (1987)

The album marked the end of the band's existence, becoming an important landmark of the California guitar underground.

True West, a band from Davis, California, along with The Dream Syndicate and Rain Parade, were among the founders of the renowned Paisley Underground scene. However, by the time they recorded "Hand of Fate," the band had almost completely changed its direction. Only vocalist Gavin Blair and guitarist Richard McGrath remained from the original lineup.
For the recording of the album, the musicians invited renowned guests from across the California independent scene: guitarist Chuck Profit of Green on Red and Matt Piucci of Rain Parade.
