Sarah Meth - Something Shameful (2026) [Hi-Res]

London-born singer-songwriter Sarah Meth will release her debut album, “Something Shameful”, on October 30 via her own label, Wishbone. She grew up on classical and choral music and trained at the BRIT School, whose alumni include members of Black Midi, Olivia Dean and Lola Young. Meth’s first releases came out on the underground label Slow Dance, and at her own Wishbone nights she brought together like-minded collaborators, including Tyler Hyde of Black Country, New Road, Mary In The Junkyard, Cameron Picton (My New Band Believe, Black Midi) and Wing!.

The album is about matters of the heart — shame and desire, yearning and letting go — and its characters are largely drawn from people she met in New York in 2024. The trip came right after her first major UK tour supporting King Krule: a man who had invited her bailed at the last minute, so she went alone. Over one week she met many people who later became central figures in her life and, in her words, encountered a version of herself that exists outside London.

The record was made piecemeal: some of it at 4AD’s London studio with in-house engineer Fabian Prynn, some with Louis O’Bryen of Sorry, and some on a laptop in her South London bedroom. This reflects her DIY spirit and reliance on a community of artists and musicians. Alongside the announcement, she shared the lead single “Don’t Touch Me You’re My Hero”, whose playful video playfully upends industry tropes and satirizes women’s experiences in the music business.
