There isn't much information out about Marius Cultier. Released several albums through the 70's and then died in 85, my guess is he was quite young at the time. I didn't know what to expect coming into this album, and I put it in my African folder before looking into it more.

The album starts off with "The Way it Should Be", a very sensual loungey jazz type of song, with heavy emphasis on vocals. The next few songs are mostly Afro-Caribbean rumba/souk/jazz music, with a few more soul type songs thrown in as well. A real mix. "Piano A Marius Cultier" is one of the rumba songs while "Nathalie" is another of the soul ones.

Then we get to "Zouk" which starts off with a cat meowing and is rumba taken to extremes. If not the best song on the album it's certainly the most interesting.
