Summer Survivors, a Sarasota band that plays an endearing Southern California-style blend of reggae, pop-punk and ska tweaked with some psychedelic guitar starbursts, has a fresh batch of original music ready to unveil. Formed in 2013 by Paul King (guitar, vocals) and John Widmann (vocals, guitar) the group now also includes Edward Clark (bass) and Tommy Collins (drums).
Summer Survivor will celebrate the release of its new album "Hashed Out" with a performance Sunday at Gilligan's in Siesta Village. The lineup of like-minded local musicians also includes the bands No Need, Wild Root, Treedomm, and Cliz & The Clockmen.
