"Being Dantès" is a modern jazz album from the project Wakan, whose name means "sacred" in the Lakota language. The music is entirely inspired by Alexandre Dumas's novel "The Count of Monte Cristo," with each composition intended to convey the emotions or character of key figures in Edmond Dantès's story. The album's sound is described as contrasting and poetic, combining jazz traditions with modern and cinematic elements to create a deep and emotional musical journey.
