An invigorating shot in the arm for those who like their jazz bolstered with a hefty dose of post-rock power. This French three-piece have boosted their own sax-guitar-drums sound with the addition of Italian trombonist Gianluca Petrella on this, their fourth, album. The trombone adds some low end to the group aesthetic, which comes in somewhere between Soft Machine and Sonic Youth. The uncategorisable nature of their music is perhaps best reflected through the band's support slots in France, where they have been invited to open for Magma, The Bad Plus, Meshell Ndege'Ocello and Tigran Hamasyan.
