Excellent jazz quartet with chromatic harmonica in the style of Toots Thielemans, including jazz standards and original music.

John LaRouche started playing the harmonica at the age of 12 and studied with classical harmonica virtuoso, Cham Ber-Huang. He has played with pianist, John Coates; cornetist, Bobby Bradford; and has played world wide at venues in Italy, Poland, Spain, and New Zealand. He currently lives in Vermont, teaches chromatic and blues harmonica and performs at notable festivals and venues. His style on this album is influenced by Toots Thielemans and Stevie Wonder. These styles are easily recognizable in his impressive performances! This album of classic jazz favorites and four of John's original tunes includes some of Vermont's premier jazz musicians: Tom Cleary on Piano, Levent Unal on Guitar, Rob Morse on Bass and Geza Carr on Drums. As an added treat, John also plays Native American flute, which you will no doubt enjoy in his original track, Awakenings. Sit back, relax and enjoy the musical magic of John and his band.
