The Chilean pianist David Poblete, excellently accompanied by Manel Vega on Contrabass and André Mallau on Drums, offers in this new project a fascinating journey to the heart of tradition: the origins of Jazz, Blues and Swing. A journey marked by a complex and passionate musical syncretism that is nourished without complexes of the Creole, the Iberian and the North American ... A feature always present in the work of David Poblete, already manifested in his previous work "Suite del Sur" (conceptual work) rooted in the Ibero-American fusion) where that purely jazz influence was perceived in pieces like "Nostalgia In Plaza Veinat", which underlies the very genesis of this new "Barna Sants".
While titles such as "Blue Codes From The Surface", "Tots Three", "Winter In Lisbon" or the fast-paced "Resilience", stand as a reverence and greeting to the eternal mainstream of Jazz, "Elektron", "Circles" and "Atacama", however, are placed in the most recent tradition, tributary of modal jazz and the fusion in which Poblete also moves with ease. "Barna Sants", the piece that gives a generic title to the Work, is a tribute to Barcelona and the close relationship between Jazz and the city.
