The violist Anna Serova has had several compositions dedicated to her in recent years by some of the most important contemporary composers, including notably Azio Corghi and Boris Pigovat. After studying with Vladimir Stopicev at the Conservatory of St Petersburg, with Bruno Giuranna at the Academy of Cremona and with Yuri Bashmet at the Accademia Chigiana, Siena, she began a brilliant career as a concert musician which saw her starring in some of the most important concert seasons and festivals in Italy and abroad. Very much in demand as a chamber musician, she has collaborated with artists including Ivry Gitils, Bruno Giuranna, Salvatore Accardo, Rocco Filippini, Filippo Faes and Toby Hoffman. Anna Serova is happy to offer her art for charity: she has made two recordings dedicated to the Rotary International End Polio Now campaign. In June 2006 the administration of the city of Krasnoyarsk conferred on her the title of Attache for Cultural and Trade Relations. Thanks to her tireless work, a protocol promoting cultural, commercial and administrative exchanges between the vast central Siberian region and Italy was signed shortly afterwards by the cities of Cremona and Krasnoyarsk. Anna Serova is Professor of Viola and Chamber Music at the Lorenzo Perosi International Academy in Biella and also frequently holds viola and chamber music masterclasses.
