Aisha aka Sister Aisha presents the album The First Lady Of Dub. Produced by The Mad Professor and released on ARIWA. Aisha has been making records since the 1980's having grown up around her fathers Sound System in the West Midlands. This record delivers Heavy Heavy Dub.
The First Lady of Dub and Mad Professor combine musical minds on this long awaited projected. Sound system followers will be delighted that 'Oh Africa' has finally seen release. This tune holds special reverence for all the attendees of the 2016 UNOD. This tune was majestically showcased as a guidance tune by Aba Shanti-I. One of those never forget moments you collect as you continually trod up and down to dances. Amazing vocals that just rip right through the track and straight to the core. The percussion is infectious, driving and frenzied. Another great aspect is that it's a discomix, so all vinyl collectors can still draw this one out in dances and sessions. Though that is undoubtedly the album's strong-arm moment, the rest does carry some high quality material. Another notable mention has to go to the fresh cover of 'Do You Know.' The original dub was released on Mellow Vibes courtesy of Murray Man. The Mad Proff remix is excellent however, with a punchy deceptively militant riddim section. Another mention has to go to 'We Say So'. Aisha's free flowing voice combining sweetly with Mad Professor's clean riddims. All in all a great album contribution to the UK roots scene, with particular excitement around the 'Oh Africa' track, one of the great UK productions of the last few years.
