Sarah Brightman’s newest album provides New Age interpretations of everything from classical symphonies to classic rock. “La Luna” is like Loreena McKennitt or Enya but with much bigger & broader production. Perhaps the best track, the vocalization of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony (“Figlio Perduto”or “Lost Son”), rests between the likes of “Scarborough Fair” & the very well done “Whiter Shade of Pale.” Brightman even does a version of a very recent pop song, Dido’s “Here With Me”.Title: La Luna

For those of you who have never heard Sarah Brightman, her voice bears resemblance to Kate Bush but with added sweetness, mystery, & haunting beauty. The sleeve notes provide English translations of the foreign-language songs.
Other tracks which struck me were “This Love”, Rachmaninov’s “How Fair This Place”, and Ennio Morricone’s “La Califfa”.
