Grouchy Rooster - Real And Raw (2003)

Grouchy Rooster is a bluesy,southern rockin,swamp stompin,bad ass chicken,with a cajun flavor of attitude.All songs have a true story and written from the heart.Vocalist,guitarist,and songwriter, Gary Jeffries has been around the block more than once. Gary has had videos on MTV with rock band Asphalt Ballet,his group won headbangers ball 7 times. He has released 3 cd's in the last 3 years with ALLIGATOR STEW,THE REGULATORS and COUPDEVILLE.. Grouchy Rooster's cd "Real and Raw" was recorded during various sessions at rehearsals,and any place a recorder could be hooked up,all 6 tracks.

There was no intentions of making a cd until seveal years later,when Beanpole(Pappy)drums,started listening to the old tapes.Pappy convinced Gary that they should release the music.Some of these songs were only played one time,such as Strange Gypsy Lady, and Poor Man's Prayer(Which were captured on the Spot, But Listen to how Daunting these Tracks are. Some of the songs were recorded by other artist's,and have been released on cd's. "Far Beneath The Rubble" was written one day after the Northridge California earthquake. Annie I See Your Eyes was written about Gary's niece,whom he was very close to.She was takin in an automobile accident. This cd is not a slick production(Definetly with exceptions), However if you want to hear Great Songs,Great Lyrics, with geunine performances, Grouchy Rooster's Real & Raw is an experience you won't want to miss.
