LARA VIZUETE
Lara Vizuete Llorente (Miranda de Ebro, 1992) graduated in June 2015 from “Higher School of Music of the Basque Country” (Musikene) specialized in Jazz Vocal.
At 6 she began to study classical piano at the Conservatory Dionisio Diez in Miranda de Ebro. Later, with the age of 12 she began to study cello as a secondary instrument.
In 2010, First prize in modern music category in the Young Musicians from the Basque Country’s Competition in San Sebastián.
Upon completion of the 4th year of professional degree in Jesús Guridi Conservatory of Vitoria – Gasteiz, she is accepted in Musikene in September 2011, where she took classes with talented musicians like Judy Niemack, Bob Sands, Guillermo McGill, Miguel Angel Lopez and Miguel Blanco, among others. She finished the Bachelor’s degree in June of 2015.
In September 2015 she started the ‘New York Jazz Master of Music’ program at the Prins Claus Conservatory (Higher School of Music in Groningen, The Netherlands). In February 2017 she came back from New York City where she had been living since September 2016 as part of the third semester of the Master. There in NYC she had the opportunity to perform in different venues like Silvana and Shrine (Harlem), On Now Lounge (Manhattan), or ShapeShifter Lab (Brooklyn) where she shared the stage with the great Chico Pinheiro on guitar.
She finished the Master’s degree in June 2017 with a high score from the jury.
With the age of 26 years she has worked with many different projects like: Lara Vizuete, Reunion Big Band, Mariano Díaz & The Song Band, Mojo Workin’, among others.
She has also had the opportunity to perform in different Jazz Festivals in Spain like: Mirajazz (Miranda de Ebro), 49 and 50 Edition of the Heineken Jazzaldia (Donostia – San Sebastián), V, VI and VII Edition of the Mojo Workin’(Donostia – San Sebastián ), Jazz Palencia 2014 (Palencia), JazZamora 2015 (Zamora), QurtubaJazz 2015 (Córdoba), JazzBermeo 2016 (Bermeo).
Nowadays Lara has released her first album called ‘Alba’. This new work is based on the Filin style. Filin is an artistic movement that arose in the 1940’s in La Habana (Cuba) and it meant the development of Bolero style influenced by Jazz music. ‘Alba’ brings a repertoire formed by three arrangements on compositions by other authors and original compositions in filin style with a modern jazz approach. Juan Sebastián Vázquez on piano and rhodes, Carlos Gutiérrez on guitar, Ernesto Larcher on doublebass and Daniel García Bruno on drums, complete the project.
