Doors Not Shut - Luty (2018)

Doors Not Shut is a project that sheds new light on the concept of jazz sextet. Formation created by five outstanding and meritorious musicians in the company of Australian drummer Philip South on his debut album proposes a full breath and freshness approach to improvisation and playing in the collective. Over the course of ten compositions, the composition is subject to almost constant rotation and we do not hear the play of all the artists involved in the project. This peculiar treatment favors the continuous evolution of the sound, thanks to which February is a disc that shines with many colors, escaping clear classifications. All this makes it an ideal proposition not only for those who are familiar with the rich art of Krzysztof Szmańda or Wacław Zimpel, but also those who are just taking their first steps in improvised music. Diversified and multidimensional Doors Not Shut music will surely provide them with a considerable amount of inspiration to undertake further searches.
