Dahlia Sleeps began forming their emotive, electronic sound in a basement studio in South London at the end of 2015. Drawing comparisons with London Grammar, The XX, Daughter and Cat Power from the blogosphere, they zero in on painful human emotion, combining intimacy and defiance. Luke Hester, the bands producer, builds each track from the ground up with his haunting electronic production that blends with Lucy Hill's delicate, soulful vocal.
Authenticity runs through the pair's writing as they tackle important topics such as homophobia and grief with maturity and weight. They write songs about the kind of love that threatens to leave, taking a familiar storyline and adding enticing melodies and layered synths to turn it into a fairytale.
In 2018 they confidently made the jump from Soundcloud sweethearts to one of the most promising young bands in the UK, selling out Omeara in London, being included on Glastonbury's Emerging Talent list, became a BBC Introducing featured artist, and received praise by Radio 1's Huw Stephens.
Their third EP 'Love, Lost' is the epitome of Dahlia Sleeps' songwriting!
