Zbigniew Preisner & Teresa Salgueiro - Silence, Night And Dreams (2007)

Zbigniew Preisner is my favorite composer at this point. I first discovered him through The Double Life of Veronique and the Color trilogy, Red, White, and Blue. This culminated with me reading a book, The Historian, and listening to Preisner's music while I read. I think he should do the music for a movie version of this great book by Elizabeth Kostova. Silence, Night, and Dreams is just that. A gorgeous mix of haunting, sweeping tapestries with sumptuous vocals taking one through the night, into dreams, and perhaps softy breaking the silence, or perhaps maybe leading into it . I especially like the title track that again, I first heard while reading at bedtime. That is not necessary though. Just close your eyes, push play and be lead into Silence, Night, and Dreams.
