Dave Stewart & His Rock Fabulous Orchestra - The Dave Stewart Songbook, Volume 1 (2008)

Outstanding set of 2 CD's - most songs in conjunction w/other famous singers/songwriters, but Dave's style and rendition is often better than the "original" he has modified, to do his way. "Hear Comes the Rain Again", "Old Habits Die Hard" and "Sweet Dreams" (are made of this) are better than the originals. The sax comes out in several songs....hard to get better than this, in my opinion. Went to a Stevie Nicks/Dave Stewart here in Adelaide, South Australia in November 2011....both were so good, like getting two concerts for price of one....Dave Stewart is an outstanding song writer/singer and combines his talent with other singers to come up with unique versions and different takes on well known famous songs, in addition to some of his own unique songs. Dave is not as well known as some other artists....but he's equal to any of the best around.
