Shems Bendali Quintet - Choukheads (feat. Arthur Donnot, Andrew Audiger, Yves Marcotte & Marton Kiss) (2019)

The young Welsh trumpeter Shems Bendali is one of the great hopes of Swiss jazz. With his quintet he landed in the final of the ZKB Jazzpreis in 2018 and also the "Mentoring Prize 2018" of the Cully Jazz Festival went to him. Inspired by trumpet players such as Ambrose Akinmusire, Christian Scott and Arve Henriksen, his Rhythm Section creates melancholy to lively melodies in the game that are always characterized by his soft trumpet sound. Back in the Moods he presents his debut album "Choukheads".
