A group from the New Zealand city of Christchurch. It was formed in 1971, thanks to the efforts of vocalist and harpist Malcolm Lane. Calling two friends Phil Briggs and Rob Sinclair under their banner, they decided to call themselves “Serenity” (Tranquility). They liked this name because the band played an excellent mixture of acoustic and electric progressive folk-rock, which was more typical for the American West Coast direction. In 1972, managed to conclude a contract with "Down Under Label". Session musicians were invited to record the album, which greatly decorated and diversified the palette of musical canvas, completely consisting of original material. Thus, in 1972, the album “Piece Of Mind” and two singles “Where Is The Lord” / “Millions” - “Pig” / “Sandelmaker” were recorded and released. But it so happened that the album turned out beautiful and almost unnoticed. Apparently, this was the rapid disappearance of the group from the musical horizon. It was later reissued on “Kissing Spell” in CD format.
