A very energetic sound, marked and always effective, adorned with some well-made rhythmic plots (poles), as well as extremely interesting harmonic architectures. "My name is" the new record creation by Peppe Santangelo Nu Quartet, an enterprising formation formed by Peppe Santangelo (tenor sax), Gabriele Orsi (guitar), Yazan Greselin (hammond organ and keyboards) and Francesco Di Lenge (drums). The CD is made up of nine original tracks, the son of the saxophonist's vivid composition. Sonny's plush course is particularly bewitching. Santangelo's speech, embellished by a warming sound, is supple, darting, full of incendiary color raids. Greselin gives life to a quivering, torrential playing, powered by some heady progressions. Orsi's elocution is winking, sweating, full of intriguing bluesy inflections. In Horace, the exotic climax is immediately contagious. Here the improvising speech of Santangelo is hypnotic, colorful timbrically, supported by the rich and intense comping woven by Di Lenge. Peppe’S Groove's captivating funk course is engaging right from the very beginning. Peppe Santangelo's solo is sinuous, with a strong appeal. Conceived in full contemporary jazz, "My name is" an album that eschews any form of banality. On the contrary, instead, Peppe Santangelo and his precious partners aim to bring out their musical personality and an expressive identity that can be immediately recognizable.
