Nainita Desai - For Sama (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (2019)

Nainita is a BAFTA BREAKTHROUGH BRIT, a Music+Sound Award 2016 winner for Best Film Score, and GOPO Romania Film Awards Nominee 2019.

Upcoming feature film releases include The Reason I Jump (2020).

2019 projects include Interactive movie / video game Telling Lies for Annapurna Interactive and For Sama (C4/PBS) the acclaimed feature which has won top prizes at SXSW, HOTDOCS, and Best Documentary at Cannes Film Festival 2019.

She is also known for her work in TV including Bafta, Grierson and RTS 2018 Nominees: Raped-My Story and Catching A Killer (C4), landmark BBC NHU series Extraordinary Rituals and the theme for the BBC Royal Wedding 2018.

Nainita moves seamlessly between working with orchestras including the LCO, the BBC symphony orchestra, and ethnic influenced music utilising her collection of custom made instruments, to electronic and experimental sound design and song-writing that's led to collaborations with artists including @Eivor (The Last Kingdom).

Nainita has forged an enviable reputation scoring for documentary, scoring hundreds of projects that have garnered OSCAR, BAFTA, and EMMYs.

As sound designer on features she has worked on Little Buddha (Bertolluci) and Lessons of Darkness (Werner Herzog) including Backbeat (Dir: Ian Softley), and Hackers (Angelina Jolie).

Prior to this she was a freelance music engineer working with @PeterGabriel amongst many of the world’s top World Music Artistes including DanielLanois, Jane Sibbery, Nigel Kennedy, Ravi Shankar
