With her album NEXT, multifaceted and independent Genevan artist Noga gives us a record inspired by the myriad encounters along her musical journey. Her masterful voice, deeply touching, perfectly embodies the lyrics penned for her by many great songwriters: Alexis HK, Marie Nimier, Patrice Guirao, Serge Lama – and there’s also a moving, previously unreleased piece by the late Allain Leprest, which Noga brings to life with great simplicity.

Noga composed most of the music herself and is accompanied by musicians as intuitive as they are unique: multi-instrumentalist Patrick Bebey, who recently collaborated with Arcade Fire, and Olivier Koundouno, the brilliant cellist who has worked with Emily Loizeau from her earliest performances and plays with Dick Annegarn. Koundouno was also the artistic director of this record.

French song it is, borne along by music which has hints of world and jazz. Not to mention the spiritual touch, striking in Noga’s interpretation of two Psalms in Hebrew, at the end of the album, as a significant signature.
