Gregor Hübner - El Violin Latino, Vol. 2 (2016) [Hi-Res]

Playing and composing music in the Latin American music scene in New York fits so well with my musical credo that I sometimes get the feeling that it is linked to my own genetic musical roots - Eastern European folk and gypsy music. Perhaps European violinists who immigrated to Latin America established this instrument and the style of playing so endearingly in the local styles of music along with integrating African influences along the way. I have no historical proof to support my idea yet I can’t quite shake off the impression.

Now it is time to take this concept to another level and include some of the music I couldn’t cover in the first album. There has to be an “El Violin Latino” Volume 2 and for this I need your help. I want to get the same musicians from the last recording plus add 3 different singer - each singing one song in their individual style; Cuban, Brazilian and Tango. I also want to add batá drums to the mix.

Lastly, I have my heart set on including 2 new musicians on this album - my children. My 10-year-old son plays the violin and studies at the Special Music School. My 8-year-old daughter is studying the flute at Lucy Moses School. It would be a dream come true if they could perform with me and a roster of incredible musicians in a state-of-the-art recording studio in New York City. It would be a great reward for everyone's hard work.
