Chris Durham (Traag, Church Shuttle) unveils a new card in the deck of fucked, bent and folded in the form of DJ BANDO. This debut release spawns sick, pulsing, ultra-lofi punk-techno that is recorded and mixed in some stain-filled steel box. Reminiscent of the dark trips of Nostilevo, John Olson's Henry & Hazel Slaughter or even distant Legowelt transmissions through a busted boombox. The thin bandwidth of sick funk which Bando struts, grows uglier and uglier with 'Boyo' a collapsing heap of spring tanks and tic-tac shakers before 'Hecho' paints a harsh alarm over juggernaut 190 BPM slugs. A composted form of Detroit techno, as is inescapable for this Southgate native. DJ BANDO's music is as unclassifiable and mad as all of Durham's unique work over the years has always been.
