Dixie Revival’s journey began in 2012, when Gaston County native Matt Branch created a country music band called Dixie Still. In just two years the band evolved from a hometown band playing local music in local venues, to the two-time Carolina Music Award-winning, Nashville recording vocal group consisting of Matt and Holly Branch, and their best friend. They traveled with a 5 piece band which featured lead guitarist and Tire Swing Records recording artist, Mike Dufault. Dixie Still released various singles to country radio, “I Fell For Memphis,” "Dark Horse" and "Even Now". The singles were played on radio stations in Tennessee, Minnesota, Ohio, Georgia, Oregon, Florida, South Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, Texas, Utah, their home state of North Carolina and even overseas. They toured consistently through 2015 all across the southeast and mid-west United States until the decision was made to focus more on the recording side of the music business when Matt & Holly took over management of Son Sound Music Group and Tire Swing Records in Bessemer City, NC.
With deep southern roots in their Christian faith led by a desire to encourage others, the "revived" trio has decided to present their faith-based positive message country music in churches, community events and other family-friendly venues.
Matthew Branch grew up in Plymouth, NC where his dad, Sherman Branch, Jr., pastored Hope Freewill Baptist Church. It was here, he fell in love with music and began playing guitar and singing in his dad's church as well as other area churches and events around the area. In 1997 his family moved back to Gaston County, NC and he started a Contemporary Christian band known as No Compromise. It was during this time that he met Holly for the first time.
Holly Robinson-Branch was a third of the Southern Gospel trio, 3 For 1 who traveled on a full-time basis all across the United States. Holly had been singing gospel music most of her life, starting at the very young age of 8. She is still the youngest artist in SGMA history to have a song in the industry's Top 40 chart. Matt and Holly would cross paths several other times over the years and finally they became husband and wife and are raising a beautiful family Nevaeh (16), Rylie (12), Preston (11) and their new addition, Coleman.
During their country music days, there was no better friend and guitarist than Mike Dufault. Mike is from a musical family and was destined to learn the craft from a very young age. His grandfather, the late Ray Crisp, played fiddle for Kitty Wells, Don Gibson and many other pioneer country artists from that era. His guitar skills and vocal capabilities are unmatched. Mike's music has always reflected his upbringing in country and faith-based music alike! He is the icing on the cake that completes the unmatched team that makes up Dixie Revival.
After several years away from the music stage all three artists have faced personal struggles as well as blessings that complete an overwhelming story and testimony they have to share for your church or community event.
