An unconventional combination of an exhibition, concert and book+CD launch, all three parts of the program have a common ground: the historical Czechoslovak jazz guitars produced in the 1930s to 1960s in the West Bohemian city of Schönbach (later Luby). Revealing their forgotten story is the main focus of the Bohemian Jazz Guitars Tribute. After more than 20 years of research, the turbulent history of Czechoslovak jazz musicians gets clear contours – and their instruments get their best sound. The output of the project is a unique publication, a plan for an exhibition, and 40 renovated and photographed guitars recorded on a CD. During the evening, experienced jazzman Marek Rejhon and mandolinist Tomáš Dvořák will play jazz hits from the time when the guitars were made. The unusual, very contemporary arrangements will present the golden fund of Czech jazz songs. The concert will be preceded by a presentation of historical instruments (starting at 6 p.m.). It will also include an official launch of the publication. The Bohemian Jazz Guitars Tribute was created by the collaboration of Marek Rejhon, Tomáš Dvořák, photographer Karel Pazderka, the Halda publishing house and Good Day Records music publishing.
