When Luke Robinson started recording “More Like Me” he elected to re-record “Sleeping On Your Side” and include it on the new CD. The song was originally released on the “Swerve” CD, but was not a radio single. At the time, Robinson didn’t realize how close to home the song would hit. In 2015 Luke went through the dissolvent of a three year relationship, then in November, lost his Dad in an auto accident. In light of losing his father, the song takes on a whole new meaning – not only to Luke, but his entire family.
Sleeping On Your Side" is one of those songs that no matter who you are, you can relate to it. We’ve all had our share of heartache, pain, and loss in life in some form" Robinson says.
The lead single from "More Like Me," “Roses On The Radio”, is another song that everyone can relate to. “It’s one of those summertime songs that makes you want to roll your windows down and crank it up to ten. It’s just a feel-good carefree song that makes you forget about your worries and reminds you of the days of wearing out a Guns & Roses cassette tape”
“More Like Me”, Robinson’s fifth studio album in his career is aptly titled to reflect his true sound. “This is one hundred percent my sound and my music. While I am proud of the success in my career to this point, this CD signifies me as an artist and as a songwriter more than anything I have done before” Robinson says.
While “She Drinks Alone”, “Number You Can Call” and “Takin' Memories Off The Wall” are all solid songs that could very well be singles in the future, it’s Luke’s choice of a cover song that will throw everyone a curveball. As is tradition with all of Robinson’s releases, he always includes one cover song to close out the album. This time…The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses.”
During his career Luke Robinson has charted five (5) singles on the Texas Music Chart and Texas Regional Radio Report. All of which have climbed into the top 30 including his first top 20 "Roses On The Radio," the lead single from “More Like Me."
