Wagon - No Kinder Room (1996/2020)

Wagon's No Kinder Room is a throwback to the early days of country-rock, yet it remains fresh-sounding. The album could have been improved with a little pruning -- fine songs are often sabotaged by country fiddle where there could have been just as easily a lead guitar or pedal steel break -- but that's quibbling, because the songs are great. Produced by pedal steel great, Lloyd Maines, No Kinder Room is a great change of pace listening experience.
