Brazilian DJ/re-editor Joutro Mundo was responsible for one of Midnight Riot's strongest releases of 2015, the rather fine Lost In Rio. Happily, this follow-up contains another quintet of high-grade re-rubs for discerning DJs. He begins as he means to go on, building the Prince-like "Directors Cut" into a sweaty floor-slayer via the track's original ingredients, chunkier beats and a few choice acid lines. Elsewhere, he gets all sinewy and sensual on the mid-'80s Brazilian boogie-soul of "Not Chicago", before dipping the tempo a little on "Boogie Down", a low-slung killer laden with trippy dub disco effects. Finally, the acid returns on the EP's stand-out track, the sun-kissed Brazilian brilliance of "Energia".
