Ndingo Johwa started music in church as a baritone singer in the church choir. he later took guitar lesson like Louis Mhlanga in the seventies at the baptist church in Francis town, Northern Botswana. At that time he played in the the church choir singing chorus and hymns (e.g. Gumbayah) as well as playing for enjoyment.
